I just took delivery of my new 3G Kindle so I thought I would record my experience's with this contraption as it happens.

1st Kindle report. Neat out of the box and your ready service. The USB charger plugs into a smart mains plug for quicker charging. Mine has been given it's permanent spot and is charging as I type.
It's made for woman's hands, if I did not have decent thumb nails the 5 way navigator would be impossible to use.

Switched it on and it connected to the net in a few seconds. Downloaded a free book to test it. (Dracula)  took just a few seconds.

It is slightly heavier than it looks but nice quality build. The mat screen has no glare (not that there is any sun here). The grey scale displays pictures well.

I went on to Wikipedia but found the page display reduced the font size to very small. I do not have good eyes so would need my reading glasses to see the pages. One of the reasons for getting the 3G model was so Liz could use the dictionary and Wiki & Google to help her with her competitions and crosswords. I have not let her near it yet though as she is not a lover of technology so I have to find a simple way for her to use the functions

While it is sleeping (off) it displays a rather nice picture of birds sitting on the branches of a tree.

I did not use my good luck up last year so 2011 has to be better (hasn't it?)
